Indeed, I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of account reps who really took the time to understand how our business ticked, what was creaking and what was whizzing along without issues.

Much easier for these busy folks to come in with a ppt and brochures of feature set 'x' on product series 'ABC', and then try to wedge it into our 'must have' requirements.

"Ouch, that hurts! Stop prodding me, I'm not ready, I don't need it! "
And did they listen? Well, the successful ones did.
